For the Just Bees pattern I chose a subject that I love, bumblebees.The bumblebees compact aerodynamically incorrect bodies are cute, fierce, and easily recognizable. They are the spirits of warm and peaceful summer days.

After researching and sketching a few studies of different types of bumble bees, I brought my favorite bees into Illustrator and drew them out to create a seamless pattern.  For the colors I experimented with a few color palettes, I decided on two colors from Pantones 2019 spring and summer palette. The blue is neutral Eclipse, and the yellow is Mango Mojito. To finish the project I brought the vector seamless pattern into Photoshop and created a pattern Preset.

I chose these three gals to represent the bees of summer for the Just Bees pattern.

Shades of the same two Pantone colors finish the background bees. The background is transparent allowing for different color choices and blending options. The original pattern is vector and is nearly infinitely customizable.
