With this project I wanted to tell my story of how and why I decided to become a designer and what I would like to do with my talents. When I was in elementary school, I loved Dr. Seuss books, but didn't really enjoy reading and I didn't know why. Later, I realized the reason I like these books was because of their illustrations. Therefore, whenever I would sketch or doodle in class, I always tried to emulate Dr. Seuss style of strokes and creativity.

Now, my passion and a lot of my creativity as a designer comes from sneakers. I’ve always been a Sneakerhead however, in high school that’s when it blew up. I was learning about sneakers, knowing release dates, who designed them and even knew the stock market for sneakers. What intrigued me the most about sneakers is not how they perform or who they are for, but who designs them and the story behind the design. Every sneaker has a story. I try to dissect the minds of the brand and designer. My biggest inspiration today is Tinker Hatfield, he is responsible for designing the Jordan 3-15 and other Nike sneakers.

This is a concept project if I was to be a designer for Nike or Adidas.

In elementary schools’ teachers and parents use positive reinforcement, the more their children read the better the prize is going to be. The National Education Association and Dr. Seuss Enterprises L.P have collaborated with Jordan Brand and Adidas to take you through the journey of reading and sneakers. The theme is Dr. Seuss and our goal is to encourages children to read and learn. Jordan Brand and Adidas have designed two special sneakers in honor of Dr. Seuss and Read Across America.
