I created this piece to make a visual representation of how my mind can feel sometimes when things are hard. Life can present you with obstacles that you hoped you would never have to cross and leave you feeling so defeated with your mind struggling to process. Inside our heads, we can find what feels like a brawl going on where depression, anxiety, fears, grief, hope and optimism are all fighting to win against one another. And it can lead to a chaotic mess.

In a society where mental health is often regarded as weakness, it’s easy to understand why people feel safer not saying anything at all. But that needs to change. We lose too many people to not care about this. We all struggle and need help from time to time. I can’t emphasise enough that we ALL need to take a moment to reach out if we are struggling or know someone else who is. Please make that phone call to check in on your mates. We don’t always know how much time we have on this planet and even when times are hard, we should all support one another and do our best to help the right tiger win the fight.

“'Cause it doesn't have to stay this way and there's a better place for you and me, where we can be happy.”
