LMP1 inspired wood wagon
This project contains of designing and making a wood wagon inspired by a famous automobile. I took inspiration from the Le Mans 24h winning Lmp1 Toyota racing car. The car has to be able to disassemble into smaller pieces like a puzzle.
After deciding the car I went and drew some sketches of the side and back profile and also drew it in perspective. Later I used the templates from the profiles of a 3d-model of a Lmp1 car.
After drawing I made a model of the car in PU-foam. This helps remove future problems and give's a good idea to the cliënt what the finished product will look like.
The type of wood used in this project is beech. Beech is a very hard wood with decreases the chance of a mistake like chipping from little wood pieces.
One other aspect of this project was that you have to use a aluminium plate that holds some parts together. I used the aluminium as my spoiler and also to connect the rear wheel arches together.
