Put A Smile On That Face
Graphic Design, Typography | 2016
Organic typeface was explored by creating different typefaces with different materials and techniques. By painting with very wet brush and allowing the paint to flow, a creepy effect was obtained. With that idea, the words were digitally manipulated to scale and rearranged, then digitally applied onto a book cover. Red was applied onto plain white to have a stark contrast between creepy and classy, both of which the character Joker could be associated with.

The book is meant to an autobiography of the Joker from DC Comics, the famous villain of the Batman series. Jack Napier, or more commonly known as the Joker, is well-known to be a psychopath, with the outlook of a clown and behaves in a erratic manner. The way he behaves and speaks is unique and is a key to his character. It would be a crazy idea to dive into the famous psycho's head and read his account on his life, understanding what went through his head at different stages.
