Animate a motion piece that promotes the audible classic ebook: Edgar Allan Poe: The Complete Short Stories in an interesting way. I chose to animate: The Telltale Heart, Cask of Amontillado, and The Masque of the Red Death.
Many various images were collected from archival sites and isolated in photoshop in order to craft collage scenes of the various stories. A granular and high contrast aesthetic was applied to be cohesive with my perception of the collective tone of the short stories. The color palette of light blue, cherry red, sea-foam green, and midnight black were utilized in order to modernize, push further symbolism into the piece, and provide an eye catching flourish to the animation. The blue represents the collective woe and sorrow in the tales, the red the contrast of passion and madness, and green and black for the eternal cycle of life and death.
