Its been 50 years since the crew of the Apollo 11 mission landed on the moon and I decided to make something to commemorate the occasion.
I went for a geometric design and used NASA's orange and blue colours. Setting up a 3x3 rectangle grid and designing each letter, spelling out APOLLO 11. This left one space free, so I added 3 semi circles to represent the 3 astronauts on the mission. I wanted a way to show the journey they took, from leaving the earth, orbiting and landing on the moon then finally returning home.
I used lines and concentric circles to represent the movement and small shapes to represent the rocket and lunar module. Final step was to print it using gold foil to bring an extra level of detail and honour their achievement.
