Designing the Bank Branch of the Future

48 Hour Brief - Designing the Branch of the Future

Brief Challenge:
Standard Bank approached Inscape’s ideation class to create a concept for the “Branch of the Future”. As an ideation class, we had to consider that the concept needed to be two-sided to cater towards customers and branch staff. The scope for customers was limited to two factors due to time constraints, therefore the concept needs to be designed for individual/personal customers that come into the branch and entrepreneurs/small businesses. Standard bank seeks to drive entrepreneur spirit across Africa by being the best bank for this target segment. Key Questions from Standard Bank: How might we repurpose or rethink our branch design to offer a personal experience that our customers value? What new and exciting role might the branch network play? What if the branch was a welcoming hub of connectivity, advice and expertise?

Deliverables:
A comprehensive presentation with research analysis and conceptual development that needs to be completed in 48 hours.
