Recently, people are staying longer at home due to 52-hour workweek system and development of various services. This trend led to an increase in the number of 'home-jok' who enjoy relaxing and leisure at home, especially in the millennial generation. As a result, a variety of products are being launched aimed at their various tastes such as home training, skin care devices, and coffee machines. In line with this trend, I wanted to design a product that would make it easy to enjoy a tea at home, through capsule-extraction type and simple way to use.

최근 주52시간 근무제, 각종 서비스의 발달 등으로 집에 머무르는 시간이 늘어나고 있습니다.이로 인해 밀레니얼 세대를 중심으로 집에서 휴식 및 여가 활동을 즐기는 '홈족’의 수가 증가하고 있으며, 홈 트레이닝, 피부관리 기기, 커피머신 등 이들의 다양한 취향을 겨냥한 제품들이 출시되고 있는 상황입니다. 저 또한 이 흐름에 발맞춰 단순한 사용법과 캡슐 방식을 통해 집에서도 간편하게 차를 즐길 수 있는 제품을 디자인하고자 했습니다.
The name of the product, ‘DADO’ is a word that means a formality about making and drinking tea in East Asia in the past. This being so, I designed the shape of the product with a motif from a kettle in traditional tea-making tools. In addition, I tried to give a simple and calm feeling to the overall design of the product.

제품의 이름인 ‘다도’는 과거 동아시아권에서 차를 만들고 마시는 것에 대한 의식을 뜻하는 단어입니다. 따라서, 전통 다구의 주전자에서 모티브를 얻어 제품의 형태를 디자인했습니다. 이와 더불어 전체적으로 단순하고 차분한 느낌을 주려고 했습니다.

Fill the water bucket on the back of the product.
/ 제품 뒷면에 있는 물통에 물을 채워줍니다.

Like preheating a cup through hot water in ‘DADO’ formality, press button to heat the cup.
/ 다도에서 뜨거운 물로 찻잔을 미리 데우듯, 먼저 버튼을 눌러 잔을 데워줍니다.

Open the cover and put in the tea capsule.
/ 뚜껑을 열어 티캡슐을 넣어줍니다.

Press the extraction button at the end of the handle and wait for the 3 LED lights to illuminate simultaneously.
/ 손잡이 끝의 추출 버튼을 누른 뒤, LED 3개가 동시에 점등될 때까지 기다립니다.
