BUTTERFLY WHEELCHAIR

A monarch butterfly wheelchair created for the 2019 "Opulent Mobility" show at Arts Unbound's Dora Stern Gallery. For the artist, Vanessa Montes, the butterfly is a symbol of freedom and independence. She wanted to play off of that symbolism, and assign it to her primary mobility aid, a wheelchair.

Opulent Mobility 2019 is a groundbreaking art exhibit that re-imagines disability as opulent and powerful.
