Design Against Fur

Every year, more than 50 million animals are violently killed in the name of “fashion.” Some fall victim to barbaric traps. Others spend the entirety of their lives in grim conditions in fur farms across the globe before being slaughtered. Another source of fur is Canada’s government-sanctioned seal slaughter, in which hundreds of thousands of seals, many just weeks old, are brutally killed. This is the reality that the fur industry wants so desperately to hide from the buying public.

To make the project interesting. I have gone through loads of research on existing artwork on design against fur trade and fashion. I came to the conclusion of creating pictogram of animals that are used for their fur. Using objects and tools of fur trade such as knife, crowbar, and some other tools. Creating pictogram merging tools and animals vector showing the way the creatures are slaughtered. For this final major project, 3 posters have been design using elements from the pictogram and typography to give a clear message. A brochure also has been design with same elements having in content facts and figures about fur trade.
