UNUSED METRO NETWORK
This underground subway network is a 1000 mm rail gauge system, which runs under a big city centre.
it is intended eventually to evolve into a full metro! The city planned at the beginning of the 1970s to build a completely underground network with a length by 15 km and 22 stations. However, due to financial difficulties only 11 stations
have been built. Since then and for some 40 years the network is abandoned. Many times new plans to finish the
network for operation has been crossed, but so far never realized. Rumors about current plans are circulating…
It was a big joy walking from station to station switching the prepared tunnel lights on and off. Water is dripping,
slippery mud is widely spread, wind is blowing around the corners and strange sounds echoing through the tunnels.
Not to forget the unusual sound of passing metro's in the sometimes nearby active subway network.
