Adapt is a facility designed to be a safe space for students to go to for guidance, support, decompress and to use it as a space to work and do research.  The building is divided up into three floors each serving a different purpose; the first floor is a library; second floor is the work hub and counselling rooms and the third floor is the decompression room.

The final stage of the conceptual development was looking at a shell, its form and purpose. the spatial layout and major design elements in the space come directly from the physical appearance and form of the shell.

The exposed form of shell of the spiral column in the center is raw and true to its form. This led to the design of the spiral staircase that is wrapped around a bookshelf that goes up to the third floor.

The second-floor spatial layout is designed by the natural form and by not fully extended the floor, it creates a balcony and a free-flowing space, which allows you to see what is happening from any floor you are on. By having this design feature with large windows allows you to maximize natural light through out the space.

The actual function of a shell is to house a living organism, the idea of that influenced the design of the meditation room on the third and final floor of the building
