Due to the ageing population of Singapore and reluctance to take up blue collar work amongst the youth, we hypothesised that heavy lifting workers across industries like airport luggage handlers, logistics and cargo, shipyards, etc will need help in the future.
We spoke with workers from many companies - Fedex, ST Aerospace, DHL, and approached many more. We learnt that the problem is not in the future; heavy lifting is causing health problems for the workers and money loss for the organisations in the present.
We then pivoted to creating a wearable device that would augment their capabilities and also prevent long term injury. We worked with HopeTechnik a Singapore based engineering company and called it HopeX. https://www.hopetechnik.com/
