Wicked Weasel & The Naughty Squirrel
Pub crawl poster for a hostel.
Latvians hold simple values. Such is the way our land has tought us. Our treasures are our trees, rivers and the sea. Our gemstone is the amber. Riga's Oldtown is just that - a gem laid in the middle of the city. During the late hours of the night its' yellow street lights hit the dark brown and red stones making the streets shine like an amber.
I borrowed the stylised typogrophy from our graphic design forefather Ansis Cīrulis. His letters were unique and I couldn't imagine a better typeface to represent our country and culture.
This poster is displayed in a couple of backpacker hostels in Riga and thus it will be mostly seen by travelers. My goal was to try and demonstrate in this poster what a night out in Riga feels like. And to me it feels like ambers and beer.
P.S. To be fair you'll never see girls in bikinis on the streets, it's not that warm here.
