The course was intended to give us hands on experience of the 3D form, how the light and shadow interacts with the form.
We had to make forms representing merge, bend and twist.
In merge, we had to start from three basic shapes. i.e. sphere, cylinder and pyramid; and merge them to an extent that neither their individual identities are lost nor do they look as if they are three different entities, balancing them in just the right form, keeping in mind the play of light and shadows.
In bend, we had to make a form that represents bend, concave and convex surfaces have been engaged in. The surface area is played with thick to thin transformation.
In twist, I showed a twist that gets transformed from a globular to a planer form with a double helix sort of structure. The form overall shows a smooth movement that ends on a thin edge.
