SEVEN VIRTUES

Virtues are general character traits that provide inner sanctions on our particular motives, intentions and outward conduct.
In this project, I developed a series of seven graphic compositions to communicate the concept of virtues (chastity, temperance, charity, forgiveness, diligence, kindness, humility), and to create a digitally printed tabloid.
I used red and black as theme colors to instruct and describe the seven virtues under different guidelines.

I used this colorful painting as cover to describe the concept of virtues. The colors of Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Blue, express emotions of love, joy, passion, hope, faith.

Chastity : Being Unhindered by Worldly Desires.I chose to express this aspect by having a person close his eyes and turn off his ears from temptation. Red dahlia and lips represent danger and sexual temptation. (copy images from books)

Charity: It is love and generous giving is the expression of love. In this composition, one (upper hand) is giving up her blood (life) for her friend. (personal full-color photograph)

Forgiveness: It is a release from bondage or a remission of penalty. I used the black color ink to represent sinfulness of mankind. Red color ink represents the blood of Jesus who sacrificed himself and died on the cross and washed off sinfulness. White color foam represents the forgiveness and righteousness. Humility: being humble. I took the picture of my friend washing the feet for others, which demonstrated the form of humility and love for others. (constructed image)
