Cellini’s Confections is an Italian bakeshop and sweetshop that was in search of a brand refresh. The goal was to make a brand that exuded rustic Italian charm while remaining chic and modern.

The packaging for their biscotti tins and bagged sweets was inspired by traditional Italian motifs. In my research I learned about terrazzo flooring, a traditionally Italian method. The small jagged stones contrast the traditionally white cement, and create an organic pattern. I decided to utilize this Italian pattern in my package designs. Each product’s color palette was influenced by the ingredients in the treat.

The terrazzo print was so successful and charming I decided to expand it into merchandise for the brand, like a tote bag.
