Exploration of Color Splatter

Piece 1:
Process: The process that I used for this piece was taking diluted printer ink and splattering it on a large piece of watercolor paper. I then figured out what animal I thought I could make the animal (a lion fish) and outlined the shape abstractly in black ink. I then wrote the word lion fish in Japanese script. I then inserted the the piece into photoshop to fix the lighting and make the colors appear the way I desired. Using this process, I came up with my concentration, exploration of color splatter, for my portfolio.

Medium: I used diluted printer ink, watercolor paper, black ink, and photoshop color adjustments in this piece.

Piece 2:
Process: The process that I used for this project was diluting and mixing several different colors of printer ink then splattering them on watercolor paper. I purposely used one glow in the ark color in order to observe the different effect it would have when splattered with other colors and create more vivid colors around what I decided to be the legs. I then decided that the ink splatters resembled a peacock and outlined it abstractly. I then created a border in the same black ink I used to outline the bird and wrote "for the birds!" in order to explore the idea of art being able to help others through its message.

Medium: I used diluted printer ink, watercolor paper, black ink, and photoshop color adjustments in this piece.
