In white paint color, depending on the wood used at that time, there are cases where the color of the wood grain can be expressed more prominent than the clear paint color.
I discovered it because I completed the design while pursuing depth. And also, because of its prominent wood grain and deep design, I feel it like mountain contours.

PROCESS
The size of this wood is 10x6x6cm. I would like to think of a design that takes advantage of the depth of a deep cuboid wood. The first point is that I wish for the depth while keeping the undulations on one thin branch. And also, another point is to place another branch near it. I would like to try how far these two branches can be placed close to each other.
Once I have carved to this state, I will adjust the part I would like to make thinner, the part I would like to be bigger, and the thickness. In addition, I will adjust the center of gravity.
When I paint by white color, I adjust the concentration with a dilute solution. By doing so, I’m able to stand out the wood grain. Depending on the wood used, the color and darkness of the wood grain after painting vary. In some cases, I think that white color may be able to express the color of the wood grain more deeply than clear color. I felt that this wood grain was more prominent.
