These pet portraits were gifts to friends, but were created with a focus on studying and improving my understanding of light and form.

For both pieces I set a timer for one hour to challenge myself to see and create simpler shapes. While they were primarily finished within this time period, I still took a few extra minutes to add some final details.

The time limit led to a more painterly style that I would not have typically considered, but I ended up really enjoying.
