Gharb Soheil
Aswan - Egypt

Sehel Island is the primary large island below the Nile's First Cataract and the Aswan Low Dam. it is located in the Nile, about 3.2 km southwest of Aswan.

Seheil was home to a stone quarry for granite used during various Ancient Egyptian eras, and there are many inscriptions in the island's granite boulders. These inscriptions were usually left by travellers marking either the start or end of their journey to Nubia.
Gharb Soheil is one of the Nubian villages and is located above a sandy slope west of the Nile. The village was established about a hundred years ago. the name of the village is due to its occurrence west of Suhail Island.

The Way To Philae Temple
Aswan - Egypt
Philae is an island downstream of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser, Egypt. it was originally located near the expansive First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt and was the site of an Egyptian temple complex.
These rapids and the surrounding area have been variously flooded since the initial construction of the Aswan Low Dam in 1902.
The temple complex was dismantled and moved to nearby Agilkia Island as part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, protecting this and other complexes before the 1970 completion of the Aswan High Dam.
