Visual Identity

Visual identity for the first edition of the Bienal Capiusa 2019, an exhibition based in Guatemala City, it brings together the work of illustrators with different styles and aesthetics with the aim of inspiring and generating a meeting point for students and professionals belonging to the Guatemalan creative union.

Identidad visual para la primera edición de la Bienal Capiusa 2019, una exposición con sede en la ciudad de Guatemala, que reúne el trabajo de ilustradores con diferentes estilos y estéticas con el objetivo de inspirar y generar un punto de encuentro para estudiantes y profesionales pertenecientes a la unión creativa guatemalteca.

The Concept

Body + Soul

The graphic is inspired and reinterprets the duality between the "Soul" and the "Body" main components of man according to Descartes as an analogy to the representations of body movement and emotions in painting and therefore in illustration through the history. For this process, iconic images were selected and synthesized through a new illustrative language.

La gráfica se inspira y reinterpreta la dualidad existente entre el "Alma" y el "Cuerpo" principales componentes del hombre según Descartes como una analogía a las representaciones del movimiento corporal y de las emociones en la pintura y por consiguiente en la ilustración a través de la historia. Para dicho proceso se seleccionaron imágenes icónicas y se sintetizaron a través de un nuevo lenguaje ilustrativo.
