Motion Graphics // Sustainable Air Travel
This short video focuses on the future of sustainable air travel through the introduction of new strategies, various airline efforts, and innovations in aerodynamics and biofuels. The message is a response to the recent “flight shaming” movement; although flying does contribute to carbon emissions, measures are being taken to mitigate the effects by both airlines and airplane manufacturers.
I was responsible for this project in its entirety, from the initial research to the copy, illustrations, and motion. The animations are clean and straight-forward, to emphasize the factual aspect of the data and information shared. The various steps should be clear and easy to understand, with the goal of shedding light on the actual impact of air travel and providing practical advice.
My process began with a brainstorming session on the best way to approach the topic. I then researched sustainable air travel in depth, summarized the results, and sketched out a storyboard.
I chose a neutral and professional color palette, as well as sans-serif typefaces that would clearly highlight the data without distracting the audience.
