Lacrosse is a team game which is played using a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. In the game, there are ten players on each team (on the field) and a ball is passed between teammates using a stick with a mesh or net at one end. The objective of the game is to shoot the ball into the opponent’s goal. Lacrosse traces its origins to Native American communities, and the game goes back many centuries. Just like any other game, lacrosse has its own set of rules, and some of them are highlighted below.

1. Only 10 lacrosse players per team are allowed on the field at a time. Four players must remain on the defensive half of the field, three must be positioned on the offensive half, while three are free to move anywhere around the field.

2. Each player carries a stick or “crosse.” Three to four defensive players carry a long stick that measures 52-72 inches, while the rest carry a short stick of 40-42 inches.

3. When a team gains possession of the ball, they must act quickly and ensure the ball is passed beyond the midfield line within 20 seconds. Lacrosse is a fast game.

4. The area around the goal is referred to as a crease. Offensive players are not permitted to enter the crease, but they can reach into the crease using their stick to pick up the ball.
