Below I share a little more of the process and a few new designs. 

I like to start with the head. It's where I can express most empathy. The gorilla was a bodyguard so he was supposed to be big! 😎

Since it was going to be animated, I like to create 360° renders and procrastinate as I see them turn 😅

This project was also going to have an arcade style animation. For this I did several design tests. The 3 arcade game animations where then executed by my friend HeyNano 

It was fun creating this animated gorilla piece. The idea was to keep it simple and cute.

The gorilla wasn't the only character created. I wanted these rabbits to have a satisfying rubbery texture, as if you could touch and squeeze them

Last but not least, the goldfish. This one was created according to the rabbit, keeping the same style.

Initially the pinwheel would be one of the characters. I believe client and agency might have thought a more expressive character would work better and this one was replaced by the goldfish. Although I really like this pinwheel, I think the decision made sense. 

Because I loved the gorilla so much, I did a few more tests after the project was finished just for fun.
