Équilibre is a rocking chair developed for the Airfrance Lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris.
The frame, backrest and seat are cut with a CNC router from a single sheet of 32mm kaori pine plywood.
It is assembled by the pre-cut tounge and grooves and glued together. The design has been made to meet ergonomic requirements and a prototype was created to determine the rocker radius and centre of balance for the final specifications.
Renders of CAD model
an initial test rig was made to determine the rocker radius, ergonomics and centre of balance.
