Remember when—
Project Done: February 2018
"Remember when—" is a 110-page photographic publication done around the theme of parks.
It is a fiction narrative where the author recalls her bittersweet relationship as she explores the parks where they met, loved and separated.
"Remember when—" uses time as a metaphor to describe the stages of the relationship.
About the Publication —
The book is divided into 4 different chapters; the different periods of time spent in the parks. It consists of 'mornings like—', 'afternoons like—', 'evenings like—' and 'midnights are—'. As the time goes on, we see the changes in their relationship.— 'mornings like—' is when they first met. Just like the mornings, it was their sweet stage, the honeymoon period of any relationship; the infatuations and butterflies in the stomach whenever they met.
— 'afternoons like—' marks the highlight of their relationship where infatuation became love. Realising that they might be the one for each other, diving deep into their love for each other.
— 'evening like—' marks their constant. It was the 'getting used to each other', taking each other for granted and hiding from each other— until one finds out that the other might not want this anymore.
— 'midnights are—' is the acceptance of the mess. This is a period where she refelcts on their relationship and going through the motion of a breakup. As she reflects, she goes through emotions of anger on why he didn't want this anymore and finds her way to the answer. Accepting the truth and marking an end to this relationship even though it hurts.— then begins on a new journey.
