Sanitarium – makers of Australia’s most popular breakfast cereal, Weet-Bix – has a long history of including collectible cards in its packs of Weet-Bix cereal. This set was based on the rich heritage and tradition of the Australian cricket team and was Sanitarium's most ambitious and high quality set yet. As well as designing all 30 double-sided cards, I selected the player images from the Getty Images sports stock library, double checked the accuracy of all the statistics shown on the cards and executed all the final artwork myself.
To house the cards, I designed and produced a lavish 32-page collector's album. Filled with beautiful photographs commisioned specially for the project, my design had to showcase both the photos and the cards. As the lead designer, I devised a clever set of perforations and die cuts that allowed the cards to be mounted in the book so that both sides could be seen at the same time.
I also attended press checks for the cards and the album, ensuring quality at every step of the project.
