Experiments / Presents / Collabs / Just for fun
  • For as long as I can remember, I've been drawing on anything & everything that I could. From drawing crude super heroes & Garfield when I was younger, my skills have gotten better but my subject matter hasn't changed too much. I've never been one to draw super realistic (though I can, thanks to art school). Drawing should be fun! and I try to make everything I do fun for both me & anyone who sees it. Check out a few of my works. Some are related, some aren't. This is just a section for some of my favorite projects that I mostly just created for fun.

  • Andrew Walsh (.WALSH.) contacted me to do some collab with some of his photos. He just told me to do whatever, and I went with it. I definitely did, and I think things turned out pretty well.
  • These two were presents for my mom & ex-girlfriend based on their dogs. Augustus (Gus) was my ex's Corgi and she always wanted me to draw him as a gentleman. I finally went with it when Christmas rolled around. My mom saw it & liked it so much that she hinted at wanting one for her birthday based on her Yorkie. That's where Woodward (Woody) came into play. They both liked them & I couldn't be happier about that.
  • My ex-girlfriend & I share a common fascination with Grave Yards. They're just so creepy & the atmosphere is really great. Anyway, we took a trip around to a few on a cold fall day & took some photos. I always feel as though ghosts are hangin' around with me when I'm around places like that, so I gave them life. Erin got nicer ones while mine looks like it's going to drag me to Hell. It happens.
  • Valentine's Day card for Erin. We're both into gross stuff. The floral border is based on her (awesome) sleeve from the book, Wonder Bear.
  • My best friend James also shares my love for the occult / creepy stuff / monsters. So I took this old poster of a hula girl that I grabbed from a thrift store & painted over it. The white pieces are actually paper pasted to it for a smooth coating, where as the red is supposed to be grungier. "Far Out" is also one of his favorite terms, so I slapped that on there to pay homage to him / cover up "Aloha".
  • Pete at Traveling Kid Productions / Tall Ship Records approached me to do a quick flier for an upcoming show with Abandon Kansas headlining. He said I could do anything to their photo (within reason) to make it appealing / get kids to come. Even though they had a nice photo... pretty much every band does. I wanted something else to grab attention, so I made them a monster squad. Well... they liked their old photo more. But I like this one! So here it is, more-or-less never seeing the light of day before.
  • A friend of mine started up a very cool t-shirt store called BRAINBOW where she would get her favorite artists to design shirts & use any profits to just get more & more artists printed. Mine was one of the first & I called it LAY TO WASTE. It's a mash up of my love for Kawaii characters of Japan & Gods/Demons from different cultures (primarily Hindu).
  • This was a flier for the sickest unholy Halloween part of the year.
