NISSAN VANNEXT CONCEPT.
Concept won the 2nd prize in 2009 NISSAN Autopista design contest.
Focused in near future urban green movility, I developed a concept for a small cargo minivan in the same way as the historic Nissan Vannette concept, that twenty years ago revolutioned urban transport vehicles due to the big cargo space, and the compact exterior dimensions.
With the same start objective, I tried to add some interesting design details, like textile exterior skin in replacement of steel body, reducing weigt and improving access because textile can enroll in pillars, the reduced volume “spine” chassis, that includes all hybrid powertrain components, including modular size battery to adpt to user authonomy
need. This concept makes also possible final assembly in simple assembly plant located at selling country or region, reducing transport costs.
KEY FEATURES:
- Tensional textile exterior body in replacement of steel: lighter weight.
- Great accessibility without doors: Textile can roll into pillars.
- Cargo volume maximization,
- Electric mobility architecture, modular battery size to adapt required authonomy
- Anticipation on “Last mile” autonomous and sustainable delivery solutiion, seen in a decade later concepts.
