TIMELINE
Because I have been studying Arts since high school, I have collected lots of names and images, from authors, painters, performance or video art artists, photographers.
Those are my references; these are the names I always come back when I need orientation, a direction to some purpose I might have. I gathered a long list of names and then I ordered them by alphabetical order; after this, I selected the images that had the most impact on me - it was like selecting the punctum of their work.

For this project, continuing the process of selecting images or visual aspects of their work, that names list was organized in a timeline. Now, this is a big point: this timeline could be conceptualized in a personal way. For example, we could timeline the names in the order they appeared in our lives or according to the importance they have on our work. I decided to work with these two aspects simultaneously.
I selected the handwriting of these creators - the hand that leads to creation - and images of bodies - it is a common element between my references. Because I wanted to highlight these different visual aspects, handwriting was printed in acetate sheets and bodies were printed in regular paper; then, they were juxtaposed together.
In addition to this exhibition, I created a folded flyer with the names behind the artworks. It's very often that we ignore the face of the artists, because we are so close to what they have done. This flyer highlights their faces and their names, and also the years they entered in my life.
The final timeline was exhibited at the classroom. I did not want to close each year with a visual reference, because all my references are connected, blended, they all come together. Those that have more impact on my work were bigger.
