The Grow With Me Trike
- RSA University Project -
During my time at university, i was lucky enough to enter the RSA project awards program. My brief was to design a product/process that would make use of the fallen timber produced during wood thinning procedures. Specific trees will be marked in a given area and chopped down in order to give the other, stronger trees a larger chance to thrive in the harsh environment.

The Idea of utilizing the wood to produce a children's trike came about after researching the process taken place to recycle wooden paper products. It may not seem obvious, but the recycling process does not have the smallest of carbon footprints. A lot of energy is needed to grind up and manufacture a new product.

I decided to look into man made boards with a high longevity when compared to the natural selection of woods out there. Plywood was an easy choice with a relatively cheap stock price and its general durable form. The idea of using this material for a trike allowed me to experiment with a trike that could transform over the years, allowing the users to change parts to acquire a different type of trike experience.
