Flyers for Florida Dance Theatre
These are two examples of flyers that I have created on a volunteer basis for Florida Dance Theatre, a professional dance company and training academy. Usually these flyers are created quickly, on short notice. Most of the time, they are strictly black and white, but a few, like the first one, have been in color. These are usually rescaled for email and facebook distribution.
For this flyer, I was going for an extremely trendy, "So You Think You Can Dance" attitude. The silhouette of the dancer is from a photograph of one of the professional members of the dance company. (Original photo © Kilby Photo and used with permission). I used Photoshop to cut her image out of the original background and then convert it to solid black.
For this flyer, the illustration came from a free dingbat that I found online. The flyer could only be printed with a black copier, so the design had to remain clean and simple.
