Burnside Brewery was my main project for this years work. I have created a total rebrand for the company. Redesigning their logo, beer bottle labels, photography style and an engaging and structured website design. The new illustrative label designs are inspired by the names of the beers and the short descriptions.

Based in Aberdeenshire between the Cairngorm mountains and the North Sea, Burnside is an independent craft brewery. We know that nothing beats that first sip after exploring the wild Scottish countryside, so we’ve created a range of natural and refreshing beers that are the perfect #postadventurepint

Our products are Vegan friendly, and we source local ingredients where we can. As a small team of 4, we love to collaborate with other businesses and charities in the North East of Scotland to create our craft and classic ranges.

Burnside Brewery was established in 2010 as Laurencekirk’s local craft brewery. With the Mearns Hills to the west and rugged coastline to the east, we draw inspiration from the Scottish landscape when crafting our classic ales. Our logo pays homage to the surrounding countryside, signifying the natural, easy-drinking beers we create – each one: hand brewed, bottled and packaged onsite by our team of four. The fern is an age-old symbol of sincerity, and so we hope it will stand as a symbol of a good, honest beer to you.

This keg was fully hand painted by myself to mockup what the designs would look like on a 5L mini keg. The process took about 4 days to complete and once it was done I decided to photograph it outdoors. I used the pint glass full of beer to use as a reference for scale. Once I was happy with the photograph, I took it into Adobe Photoshop where I was able to apply the fern pattern to both the glass and keg.

The website I created for the brewery was now much more visually engaging and structured to navigate through.
