Aam Panna
The desi cold drink. Beat the heat with some aam panna they said and I believed them. Don’t drink too much of it, you’ll have watery bowel movements and I believed them. But today I had a first-hand experience with aam panna that I would like to share. Until today evening I had no clue about what I wanted to shoot, I wanted to shoot something with whatever was there at home. Opened the fridge, mostly empty, there were two raw mangoes chilling with few carrots. Opened the desi pantry, there was pasta but I didn’t feel like pasta today. Finally, I got the mangoes, realised summer is still on – let us cool down. I began with my prep, everything was going well, I took all the shots I needed, put them in the folder – went all Marie Kondo. Then I decided to reshoot the last picture – the one I clicked was just not me. I wanted it to be simple and clean – like it looks. So, I took few shots and happily drank the panna, now, I began looking for the photos on my laptop – of course I inserted the card. I couldn’t find the photos I clicked and there was no chance of reshooting, the sun was down, I cleared the setup. I went crazy on google like the crazy girlfriend, couldn’t find shit – oh god I can’t post this without my last picture, it will look incomplete and that is going to bother me like hell. After getting frustrated for an hour maybe more, I decided to reshoot the last shot and I did. It looked good but it didn’t go well with the rest – it was the odd one, I took a deep breath and inserted the card. Bam! My last lot was lying in there, in this card instead of the other one, where I was going crazy looking for them. For almost two hours I went through so many emotions and despair, thinking it was gone. But it was right under my nose all along. What I learned was instead of going crazy, keep calm, and have acceptance is the best policy. Of course it is easier said than done.
