CLICK: Minimalist Coat Hooks

CLICK was a project aimed at utilizing both ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ materials throughout the design. I wanted to take a mundane, everyday home accessory and add an element of human interaction to it. The user is required to pull down and click the coat hook in place before hanging up a piece of clothing. The visual form & aesthetic are rather minimalist: a rectangular prism protruding from the wall, made of aluminum metal and various woods. The idea was to convey themes of enticement and curiosity, having the protruding wall block, while in its closed position, facilitate conversation between hosts and guests about the piece prior to interaction.
