For the 2016 Rover, I was responsible for designing and fabricating the treads. Using Rhino (a 3D rendering program) I went through many iterations of designs before finally ending up at this one. The treads were made from a two-part silicone mold and cast with a pourable rubber from smooth on. They use a lip on the bottom side to grab on to the rim as well as a tensioned band-it strap along the diameter of the wheel to lock the treads in place.
