Battle for the Agora

'BATTLE FOR THE AGORA' BOARD GAME

This is a cooperative board game set in the Athens of Hellenistic Greece. This game is geared towards people who enjoy trying new types of games. The objective of the game is to get rid of all of the monsters that are attacking the Agora in Athens. Each player plays like a Greek hero and moves around the Agora enlisting allies and completing your labours and gaining renown. The gods are also involved in the game and will either help you along your quest or just be a general pain with blessings or curses. This was an interactive design piece and involves principles such as Branching and Nodes, Card Sorting and Gamification, among other things. For the research in this game, I interviewed Prof. Emily Egan at the University of Maryland and the map of the Agora was made by Piet de Jong.
