Recently I have made a number of illustrations with cats in famous paintings. One of the tasks from my client was to create a vector illustration of a cat as Van Gogh. I thought it was an incredibly stupid idea, and a fast google search showed a dozen cats painted as Van Gogh's self portraits. On a second thought, I decided that one more Van Gogh cat would not make any difference. One of the rejected drafts was too funny to just let it go, so I made a painting from it using acrylics and gouache.
The process brought me much more joy than I expected, so I continued to make paintings with cats. This is a personal project, which I do because cats are too funny not to do it.
Some of the illustrations from this collection are now licensed to be used on puzzles, notebooks, pillows, etc with TM Orner. Also the prints and other products are available at Society6.com
