Encouragement Walls

The encouragement walls were painted in the Nain Rouge brewery school in Detroit, MI. This school has a focus on educating students of color to bring more diversity to the world of brewing.

In an 80% Black city, downtown, and midtown, Detroit keeps changing to the residents that live outside those areas. These murals were painted to encourage Black people. The Encouragement Walls are a reminder that Black people will not be forgotten or erased among all of the changes around them. Black culture, art, and music will remain the essential pillars of the city of Detroit. Detroit's culture will remain in the people who carry it within them. On a larger scale, these murals are meant to bring joy to Black people, at large, who are suffering, depressed, and overwhelmed. I've found that those little sayings or encouragements bring happiness in the darkest of situations and experiences.
