Client: Sara (Astley) Gerard

 

I was so honored to design the wedding invitations for one of my best friends Sara. The wedding was going to feature books as center pieces to celebrate her major in English and Kyle's major in history, the wedding colors were purple and orange as well. I decided to create a fun book theme for their invitation suite in their wedding colors. I did simple illustrations of the two of them featuring her bangs and his sideburns, which is the name of her blog, Sideburns & Bangs. Instead of a traditional RSVP card we made the email RSVP on the belly band in the style of a book belt, and the directions on a bookmark to round out the book theme. I did calligraphy for all the addresses in purple ink on a Kraft paper envelope, and we created a rubber stamp with their return address on the back.
