About
I was born in the an industrial city in Northeast China. I relocated with my family to Los Angeles when I was eleven years old. After I've been thrown into a diverse, fast-paced environment, I've learned to adapt at an young age. I started collecting visuals I appreciated around that time from magazines like Vogue, W, GQ and Wired. As my interest with pretty things grew, I started to attend Art Center's Saturday High program and worked at a local print shop as a graphic design kid who made menus and banners. In 2008, I enrolled in Art Center College of Design for Advertising and kept my interest for graphic design on the down-low. It was a time where I explored design through the marketing perspective. Two years later, I realized I needed to move out of my comfort zone and go somewhere different in order to grow as a person and a designer. So I chose Detroit, Michigan. I enrolled in College for Creative Studies in 2011 for graphic design and startd focusing on branding and art direction. A year later, I began to work with one of the best non-profit business incubators in the city and got heavily involved with Detroit Design Festival. It has been a wonderful experience. As the festival for 2013 ends in late September, I will be ready for my next adventure to take me to another new place.

My passion for graphic design lies with participating the multi-discipline design process as an art director and brand strategist. I believe that my design work can be a tool to express the wonderful philosophy that a brand can carry on. Form, colors, and type will always be an obsession of mine, and I have been acquiring animation and web skills in the past couple years to embrace the technology-oriented design industry.
